Holbrook Bakery & Cofee Shop

Established in 1899 we have a tradition and culture of making the best food in the region. There are no words to describe the taste but to experience and savour. The setting is lovely and the vibe is friendly with cheerful history and personality. Our staff will be more than happy to tell you the stories our historical bakery.

 

1899 – J.A Robertson opened Robertson’s Bakery at its current location

1920’s – Current Scotch oven installed at Robertson’s Bakery

1940’s – House to house deliveries stopped during the World War II after the Japanese bombing of Darwin

1951 – Donald Robertson sold the bakery ending four generations of Robertson’s  family bakery

1983 – Holbrook Bakery was the official supplier of bread for Prince Charles and Lady Diana’s visit to the town.

March/April 2011 – Renovations to the Holbrook Bakery which included extension to coffee shop, rest rooms, a new cool room and storage room. 

Sept/Oct 2011 Opening of our second location at 51 Albury Street – the southern end of town – to enable easy access once the bypass is completed. This will also take advantage of the ample parking that the new site provides for travellers, buses, caravans and large vehicles. 

2016 – Re opening of our second store in the Brand New Caltex Service Centre.
